When United Flights Begin at LAN

Beginning May 7, 2026, United will offer nonstop flights from Lansing to Chicago O'Hare (ORD). Not "one flight if the stars align." Four daily nonstop flights. Morning, midday, and evening. Tickets go on sale January 29, which means the era of aggressively refreshing your flight app is almost here.

Why does this matter? Because Chicago O'Hare is basically the airport doorstep that leads to all other airports. One hop from Lansing now connects Mid-Michigan travelers to United's massive global network. Fewer layovers, less wandering airports, and way fewer moments of realizing your connection is in a different terminal, which also happens to be in a different zip code, and boarding starts in six minutes.

This is also a huge win for the Lansing business community. Reliable nonstop air service makes it easier to attract companies, keep business happy, and stop pretending that driving to Detroit at dawn is "not that bad." It is that bad.

Local leaders are excited, and so is anyone who has ever planned a trip and sighed at the word "connection." United's return signals confidence in the Lansing region and delivers something travelers have wanted for years: convenience without the extra mileage.

In short, United is back, Chicago is closer, and Lansing travelers just got some time back.
