For me, the 4th of July in Michigan is about parades, festivals, and celebrating America's independence. It's also about hot dogs, pontoon boats, bonfires, two-tracks, beaches, community picnics, and ice-cold beverages. All that's great, but the draw for most is the grand finale after dark: Fireworks. No matter where you are in Michigan, we've put together a list of the Mitten State's biggest and best displays for 2025.

Tips for the Perfect Viewing Spot
Of course, just as important as when the fireworks start is where you watch them from. There's nothing like thinking you've found a prime viewing spot, only to find out your view is blocked by a giant tree or house.

Fireworks Etiquette You Should Know
Each of the cities below has a history of celebrating Independence Day with fireworks, and the locals are well aware of that history. If you're visiting one of the Michigan towns below as part of a long weekend, or you're heading to your first display in your hometown, there are some things to know.
- Blankets and chairs in a viewing field are like calling "Dibs!" Don't move them to make room for your things unless you are looking for trouble.
- Arrive early and place your blankets and lawn chairs to claim your spot
- Park and walk. If you park too close to the venue, you'll be one of the last to leave
- Pick up after yourself.
- Be ready for big booms. It's a fireworks display, it's going to be loud and colorful.
