Tiny Michigan Airport Named One of America’s Ten Most Stressful
You'd think the most stressful airports in America would be massive, crowded hubs where people sprint in flip-flops while dragging suitcases that sound like they're full of stolen silverware. Nope. Small Airport, Big Headache for Michigan Travelers
Here's the twist: this isn't Detroit. It's not Grand Rapids or Lansing. It's not even one of those "blink, and you missed it" regional airports you pass on the highway and forget exists a mile down the road. This is deep-cut Michigan. The kind of place where even your GPS asks, "Are you sure?" as your cell service disappears.

The study found that this Michigan airport had delays on nearly a quarter of its flights, with cancellations and even the occasional diversion sprinkled in for dramatic effect. That cocktail of anxiety was enough to earn this travel hub a stress index score in the 60s (100 being the highest).
Why Delays Impact This Michigan Airport
Unlike massive airports with backup plans for their backup plans, smaller airports have a smaller margin of error. Add in Michigan weather, a more limited number of flights, and fewer rerouting options, and suddenly one delay feels like a domino tipping over all your travel plans.
