Why Every Michigander Should Keep Paper Towels in Their Fridge
Yeah, you clicked it, too. I did the same thing when I saw the headline in Reader's Digest, where I first discovered the rationale behind Michiganders keeping paper towels in their refrigerators. Michiganders with Paper Towels in Their Refrigerator Save on Groceries
We've all been there before and always with good intentions. We buy loads of fruits and vegetables, only to have them go bad because we couldn't eat them fast enough. This is where the paper towel in your fridge comes in real handy.
Readers Digest suggests that we should be lining the bottom of our refrigerators produce crispers with paper towels, which will keep them fresher longer. But how?
How Paper Towels Help Keep Your Produce Fresh
According to Spoonfuls.com, lots of fruits and vegetables release water once they are stored, and that water has nowhere to go in your fridge and, therefore, turns your food a sad brown. By lining the drawers with paper towels, you're keeping the moisture away from your food, which means it stays edible longer.
