Deadliest State For Winter Driving is Michigan
According to WILX-News 10, Your Breaking News and Weather Authority, Michigan ranked number one on the list of deadliest states for winter driving.
I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've seen cars on highways that have ended up in a ditch somewhere causing major traffic jams.
According to a study comprised of winter weather related crashes from the National Highway Safety Administration, Michigan had 282 winter weather related driving fatalities from 2013 to 2017.
Many of these crashes happened because of sleet, hail, snow, freezing rain or drizzle. For every 100 below freezing days each year, Michigan averages 37 fatalities.
