Body in the Trunk: Admiral Motel Near Mt. Clemens, 1987
About three miles south of Mount Clemens was once a roadside inn called the Admiral Motel – sitting in Clinton Township at 35706 S. Gratiot Avenue.
The Admiral was one of those classic 1950s motels. It began as a single structure, with an added wing built later.
It may have started out as a family-friendly establishment, but by the 1970s, the area became notorious for all the crimes being committed.

This continued into the 1980s; a 1987 newspaper article reported, “Police found the body of a woman in a car at the Admiral Motel on Gratiot Friday after a passerby said she had seen a man putting a body in a car trunk. Police did not release the woman’s name but said she lived at the motel.”
This happened a year after the motel was put up for sale.
A number of years passed, and by 2010, the place was demolished. Currently, a Ford dealership sits on the site. Photos are below.
