Amazon Could Be Coming To Detroit
It's like they came out of nowhere, but they didn't actually come out of nowhere. But...now you see them everywhere. Everywhere.
I'm talking about all of those Amazon trucks. Delivering everything everywhere. I'm sure that you, like me see them all over the place and I believe that not a day goes by that I don't see at least one driving around my neighborhood. The thing is that I may have, or I may not have, seen as many driving around before the COVID-19 pandemic. I can't really remember.
It could be that there are more Amazon trucks on the road because more people are staying home and ordering lots of stuff from Amazon. More stuff. More trucks. Makes sense to me. If that's the case. Or it could be people are just ordering more stuff to be delivered because its convenient, pandemic or not.
The one thing that I do know is that according to News 10, Amazon has an interest in building one of their distribution centers in Detroit. So see, people are ordering lots of stuff at least. The retail giant has their eye on 142 acres of what was once the state fairgrounds. This of course could mean lots of jobs.
An interesting thing that could come from all of this is that an entrepreneurship academy would also open that would coincide with what is called Amazon Delivery Service Partners. It's where entrepreneurs can start and run their own companies where they could own their own trucks for their own delivery service that would deliver products that are sold by Amazon. These entrepreneurs however would not be employed by Amazon.
