New Michigan Rail Station to Link Detroit, Chicago, and Maybe Canada
Move over, potholes, Michigan's about to get something smoother than the freshly paved US-127 corridor in Lansing. Governor Gretchen Whitmer just announced via press release that a shiny new rail and bus station is coming to Detroit's Michigan Central Innovation District.

What the Hub Will Connect: Routes & Destinations
This new hub will serve as Michigan's latest "get-on-and-go" hotspot, connecting Detroit to Ann Arbor, Metro Airport, Chicago, possibly Windsor, and even Toronto — for when you need your poutine fix without crossing the border in your snow-crusted car. It's all part of the plan to make downtown Motor City more vibrant, more connected, and, dare I say, less car-dependent.

Amtrak, Canada & the Wolverine Line Extension
The Amtrak Wolverine line could soon stretch all the way to Canada, giving travelers a first-class alternative to airport parking rates that currently rival the cost of a new iPhone. For everyday Michiganders, it's a rare and beautiful thing: a transportation project that doesn't involve traffic circles.

The new hub will sit inside the 30-acre Michigan Central Innovation District — the area Ford revitalized from an abandoned neighborhood to a tech and creativity hub. Now, it'll be the place where commuters, tourists, and lost individuals will all board the same train to different destinations, all hoping for a decent Wi-Fi signal. This is one Detroit comeback story that is right on track.
