The news, wrapped in a brown and yellow package, is courtesy of the United Parcel Service, better known to all as UPS. Why are they eliminating so many jobs? Well, according to the NY Daily News, it's because they've decided to longer be best friends with Amazon, a move that will no doubt result in jobs lost in Michigan.

Believe it or not, UPS actually chose to scale back its Amazon business. Why? It turns out it's not that profitable. So now, according to CBS News, UPS is focusing on "revenue quality" and "domestic margins." That's corporate speak for "we're tightening the belt and you're going to feel it."

The bottom line for Michigan? Brace yourself. If UPS starts trimming facilities, some of our 272 locations could get the axe.
