Let's start at the bottom of Michigan's recommended babysitter wage scale and move up. In the basement, the lowest average goes to ZipRecruiter, who says $15 an hour is enough. But before you go and lowball Mary Poppins, you'd better see what the other four experts advise.
A buck up from Michigan's lowest is $16.09 per hour from NannyLane, followed by Parents.com at $16.76 per hour. But wait, Indeed says those wages are far below the $19.15 they recommend. Meanwhile, SitterCity.com says Detroit, Michigan's average wage is a staggering $21.50 an hour.
Let's be honest: $21.50 seems a bit high, considering the sitter will likely eat your food and rummage through your belongings, closets, and drawers between watching Moana 15: You're Welcome Again and Cocomelon.
