In Michigan, or anywhere else for that matter, you could be in the driver's seat of the safest vehicle on the planet, and if you're a terrible driver, you're unsafe. But, to be fair, everyone in Michigan has been a 'terrible driver' on more than one occasion.  So, when you're behind the wheel of a couple of tons of metal moving at speeds humans weren't meant to travel at, what brands are the safest?

Now, you can read this and say, "I'm a safe driver," but let's be honest: We've all sent a text or searched for a lost pen under our seat while driving with the obvious intention of WRITING SOMETHING DOWN while driving, or something equally as irresponsible under the guises of "I'm a great driver."

The vehicle history report gurus at EpicVin commissioned a study to determine which car brands were the safest on our backroads and highways. The EpicVin CEO, Jurgis Pikaitis, quickly pointed out that the names appearing at the top of the list are brands known for and have fleets comprised of larger vehicles like SUVs and pickup trucks.

Pikaitis went on to say that the safest practices include adhering to the rules of the road, wearing a seatbelt, and not getting behind the wheel when you have too much. With that said, let's look at the ten vehicle brands involved in the fewest fatalities in Michigan and around the country.
