MI Man Accidentally Buys Two Identical Lotto Tickets, Wins $2Mill

Man I wish I had this kind of luck when it came to playing the lotto or gambling

WXYZ in Detroit reports that a man in Dearborn Heights, Named Samir Mazahem recently by accident purchased two Mega Millions tickets and ended up winning two million dollars when he matched the 5 numbers on the white balls drawn.

He told WXYZ that he bought the tickets online for the June 9th drawing and had used family birthdays as the numbers to play. After he bought the ticket he realized he hadn’t saved the numbers as “favorites” on his profile and wanted to set that up for future plays. Except when he did they, he actually bought two tickets for the Mega Millions Jackpot drawing that week. Other than spending more money than he expected, he didn’t think much about it the two tickets, until recently.

The other day he wanted to check a couple of other tickets he bought and that’s when he realized his “accident” was really a blessing as he tells WXYZ,

“I recently logged into the app to check on some tickets I had bought, and that is when I saw I had two $1 million prizes pending. Saying that I was stunned is an understatement. I couldn’t believe it was real. It took several days for the reality to set in that my mistake had paid off to the tune of $2 million!”

He has since claimed his prize winnings at the Lottery office and now plans to buy himself a house and put the rest in savings, WXYZ reports.

This never happens to me. The only time I really have luck with gambling or the lottery is the first night on a cruise ship, once you hit international waters, they open the casino and the slots are usually loose for the first couple hours. But even then, I’ve only walked away with a few hundred dollars at most, which is always nice to put down at the pursers' office for the end of the trip tip and incidentals.
