The reward for surviving a Michigan winter is getting to enjoy glorious Michigan summers. For some people, that's swimming in the Great Lakes or just enjoying a day not in sub-Arctic temperatures. And don't get me wrong, those are great and all.

But for me, there's nothing better on a hot summer day than some ice cream.

For one Michigan ice cream shop, they took our love for ice cream and one-upped us in the most Pure Michigan way possible—they made a Faygo Rock & Rye ice cream.

Michigan Ice Cream Shop Making Faygo Rock & Rye Soft Serve Ice Cream

Dairy Whip in Redford, Michigan makes this flavor, and it's basically the epitome of all things Pure Michigan and summer combined. And an added bonus—the Faygo soft serve is naturally dairy-free, so it can be enjoyed by more people.

However, nothing good lasts forever, and this treat is only available for a limited time. If you want to get your hands and taste buds on a cone of this incredibly popular flavor, you'd better get there lickity split. Faygo Rock & Rye will only be on the menu until June 7.

Plus, be prepared to wait, as this is a VERY popular flavor, and Dairy Whip anticipates some longer lines.

Dairy Whip can be found in Southeast Michigan and is open every day from 1-10 p.m.

Dairy Whip isn't the only ice cream joint that serves up Faygo ice cream; Browndog Creamery also makes a line up of different ice creams infused with Faygo flavors.

Enjoy your ice cream responsibly this summer!
