I know that those mini bottles of shampoo and soap are nice to have when you forget to bring your own, but they will be gone soon. Holiday Inn announced, according to WILX, that they are going to stop putting mini bottles of toiletries in their hotel rooms, with the end coming fully in 2021. The rooms will instead have bulk-sized bathroom amenities in their more than 843,000 guest rooms all over the world.

They are switching to bulk sized bathroom amenities because of the waste that is created by mini plastic bottles. Holiday Inn, which is owned by IHG, uses upwards of 200 million bathroom mini bottles a year. This switch will do a lot to save the planet from the over abundance of plastic. IHG, which also owns InterContinental Hotels, is joining other large companies like Amcor, L’Oréal, Mars, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Unilever and Walmart in switching from single-use packaging to reusable packaging by 2025.

So, sorry if you like to take the mini shampoos or soap when you leave the room cause that isn't going to happen in a few years. You can read more about it here.
