For the first time in forever, and after decades of being the Mitten State's undisputed king of retail, Walmart is no longer the #1 retailer in Michigan. It seems like just yesterday (or last week), we were grabbing back-to-school deals, last-minute deer camp supplies, or just killing time (and money) wandering up and down the aisles for fun (don't lie, you do it too), because Walmart was the place to go.

Forbes reports that another company has surpassed Walmart's quarterly revenue for the first time in over a decade. The numbers don't lie: Walmart's $180.5 billion haul wasn't enough to keep the crown. So, who finally dethroned the retail giant? None other than Amazon.

With a staggering $187.8 billion in revenue, Amazon has officially taken over the number spot. While I hate to see any brick-and-mortar location fall to an exclusively online retailer, I can't say I'm surprised. Why would I traverse cramped aisles (please widen them), scan, bag (get rid of self-checkout), and load my groceries when I can order them online and deliver them to my front step?
