What are some of the best pieces of advice you could ever receive?
“Treat others as you would have them treat you”
“Your word is your bond”
“Your life is your responsibility”
“Always be kind”
“Listen more than you speak”

And one that does not get enough credit:
“Don’t burp if you swallow a stinkbug”

What the heck is that supposed to mean?
If you have ever had a co-worker come back from lunch with bad breath, they probably had a salad with garlicky dressing, or a burger with onions, or any other kind of delicious food that does not smell so delicious when it comes out in the form of carbon dioxide (a/k/a/ breath).

Thus is the argument for swallowing a stinkbug. Hopefully by accident, if it ever occurs.

First of all, stinkbugs are called that for a reason: they release such an offensive odor if they’re squished or feel threatened. If you swallow one, it’s possible you’ll experience an upset stomach or nausea. If allergic, you could experience a hard time breathing.

Swallowing a stink bug is mostly harmless, as they are not poisonous to humans or animals.....but once they are inside you, whether squished or not, the odor will be released. Therefore, if you feel a gas bubble rising to the surface, DO NOT BURP. At least, not in the presence of anyone. Get as far away as you can and let it rip.

What does it smell like, you wonder? The stink of a stinkbug has been likened to cilantro, rubber, skunk, rotting vegetables, sulfur, coriander, and ammonia. That’s what your belches will smell like – so get away from anyone if you feel one coming on.
(This advice applies to both ends.)
