New Brunch Spot to Open in Downtown Mason
If you know me, you know I love brunch. To be honest, I'm just all about breakfast food, I'll eat breakfast anytime of day.
So, I'm very excited to check out the new breakfast spot that's set to open in downtown Mason!
Dan Kostecke Jr. and his wife Rachel are taking the Lansing area by storm. They own the Guiding Light Garlic Farm in Mason and LFA Farmers Market in Mason, Williamston and REO Town and soon Risen Breakfast & Bakery.
The brunch spot will be located at 402 S. Jefferson St and will serve up freshly baked goods and seat 60 people.
Farm-to-table approach
The menu is still being finalized but it will mainly be farm-to-table and include some favorites like breakfast burritos and biscuits and gravy. The bakery will have several baked goods to choose from such as muffins, bread, cookies and more.
Kostecke told the Lansing State Journal that downtown Mason has been looking for a good bakery and that it's important to stay as local as possible at Risen.
We're not going to have farm-to-table just be a cliché. We literally will be taking it from our farm and our friends' farms and bringing it in there. It's about as farm-to-table as you can get.
I'm just going to go ahead and answer the other question that's on your mind because it was on mine too.
Will Risen Breakfast & Bakery offer booze so you can enjoy a bloody mary or mimosa?
You can count on your Sunday being a fun day because they are currently working on their liquor license.
The Kostecke's hope to open the doors to their business this fall.
