Quality Dairy Has Done Something To The Iconic Chip Dip – Engage Freak Out Mode
"Change is inevitable. Growth is optional."
I'll see your Mr. Maxwell and raise you with a good friend of mine.
Meet Mr. Joel. Billy, Joel.
Don't go changing to try and please me
You never let me down before, mmm...I love you just the way you are...
I legit just realized I'm professing my love for a local French onion dip, I'm writing about them changing it, and then quoting a Billy Joel song.
The level of concern and outcry here is exceptionally high my friends. And I'm not alone.
Let's start with a Facebook post from one of our local favorites that crossed my newsfeed Wednesday morning.
And there was much grumbling.
What in the rebranding nonsense indeed.
Our beloved QD took this classic, iconic tub...
And replaced it with...this.
Much cynicism and skepticism ensued.
Was it just the container? Did they change the chip dip?
You know folks have been claiming FOREVER they've changed the chip dip formula. We know for sure they've tried different flavors, but word is they haven't and won't change the iconic French Onion Chip Dip.
When I went to purchase a tub with the new "branding" the guy behind the counter was like, "oh gosh no, never that" when asked if they changed the dip itself.
Some folks have said that the consistency has gotten less thick. But again, no real talk of the "formula" or taste being changed from the folks at QD.
But this new logo...
Personally, it's now just like...well look beside it.
And right there on the shelf above it.
Now don't get me wrong at all. I love me some QD, I love this Chip Dip, and I've purchased it and traveled with it to give to people as a gift from Lansing. It's iconic. You can't get it anywhere else.
But I think we all loved this packaging.
Simple pleasures. Simple taste. Simply classic. They need to put that font and that saying on a t-shirt. Quality Classic. I like that. And I liked the old container below.
THE CHIP DIP OF THE GODS!
This stuff should come with a warning label.
It's made right here in Lansing.
It's even got my zip code on it which makes me even happier.
It is bar none THE BEST FRENCH ONION CHIP DIP ever.
