Other Food Items That Would Be Awesome With Some Iconic Quality Dairy Chip Dip
There is something about Quality Dairy Chip Dip that Lansing residents are obsessed with. Yes, it's delicious. But there's something more than that...something I can't put my finger on. That "Je ne sais quoi" if you will.
People love it with all varieties of chips, I enjoy it thoroughly with BBQ chips. However, there are ways to enjoy that are different than just your basic chips and dip situation, and there are a couple of restaurants here in Lansing that have shown us some delicious options.
Quality Dairy French Onion Chip Dip
Back in April and May of this year, Slice by Saddleback featured a QD Chip Dip on a pizza. It looked absolutely delicious! I came with Quality Dairy's iconic French Onion dip, mozzarella cheese, bacon, Saddleback's house-made chips, and some green onions. Sadly, this was a limited run as far as pizzas go, but perhaps one day they'll bring it back.
If you missed the QD Chip Dip pizza, no worries, because Harrison Roadhouse in East Lansing is the latest local business to partner with Quality Dairy for a menu item.
This time around, Harrison Roadhouse has built a burger featuring the iconic French Onion chip dip. It looks like this menu item features the chip dip and some crunchy chips as well. People seem to be really stoked about trying this item...I've seen a bunch of positive responses on the Lansing Foodies group about it.
I was feeling inspired to think of some other dishes that might pair well with Quality Dairy Chip Dip, and here's what I came up with:
Stuffed Chicken Breast
You could stuff a chicken breast with a little bit of the QD dip, plus some caramelized onions and gruyere cheese.
Jalapeno Popper
Substitute the cream cheese in the popper for a little bit of chip dip.
Loaded Mac N Cheese
Use a few dollops of chip dip as part of the creamy element of the cheese sauce for some loaded mac n cheese. This is another great opportunity to use some caramelized onions and gruyere cheese and go full French Onion.
Hot French Onion Dip
I know, I know. A hot dip is still a dip. But you could elevate it into a hot dip, similar to spinach and artichoke dip.
Serve with Fried Pickles
Again, yes, I know. This is still just a straight-up dip situation. But I feel like french onion dip would be delicious with some fried pickles.
