The Abandoned Pirate’s Amusement Park in Flint, Michigan
Pirate's Park was an amusement park in Flint that wasn't open too long...it opened approximately around 1991 and lasted 'til the mid 2010's.
Nowadays, the remnants still stand as a reminder to all what fun it used to be. Why did it close? It had something for everyone:
420-FOOT TALL WATER SLIDE
INDOOR ARCADE
MINI GOLF
REFRESHMENT AREA
BATTING CAGES
BUMPER BOATS
GO-KART TRACK
Why close, indeed? Could it be thanks to the influx of home gaming and computers that kept customers away? Or was there an offer made to buy the place that was too hard to resist?
Check out the photos below to see the Typhoon Water Slide in it's current state along with the rest of the grounds, inside and out.
Thanks to former owners Jeff & Bob Katz and Hod & Jeri Morton for bringing family fun & joy to the area for close to 25 years.
Pay a visit soon; you can hang out in the parking lot and take photos before everything is torn down...but ALWAYS get permission if you seek to explore within the amusement area.
