Welcome back to college.

Welcome back to campus.

Now, where are you gonna eat?

This is a question usually reserved for you and your boo. It turns into the back and forth of choices ending with "no, not there". You both decide on Taco Bell or something that you really didn't want and no one is happy.

If only this were the case for MSU students living on campus.

Because usually, you could just head to the dining hall and grab something to eat.

Now, that trip to said dining hall might just involve taking a bus to your next meal.

I just want food, why am I taking public transportation?

MSU dining halls are now temporarily closed to the public and are only open for student use because they can’t get enough people to work. MSU typically has a staff of almost 4,000, this year it is down to 400.

And because certain dining halls are closed because of staffing issues, some students have to catch a ride to their meals.

MSU is offering two options for students who normally use these dining halls. They can get their dinners to-go or they can take a shuttle to Brody Dining Hall. The head of dining services says they are doing everything they can to return to normalcy. (WILX)

Why are there such big dips in numbers when it comes to staff? Folk got furloughed and aren't coming back because they found other jobs.

And let's just throw in some pesky supply shortages for good measure too.

“Every day we find out there’s a product we can’t get in or wasn’t delivered so supply chain issues are a problem and we are constantly changing menus to reflect that,” said Dawson. (WILX)
