Today marks the 53rd anniversary of Marilyn Monroe singing "Happy Birthday" to president John F. Kennedy.

While you watch this video, see if you think her tardiness was planned...maybe to peak the anticipation of the audience. She was obviously not the greatest singer, as many of her notes fall flat...and JFK appears to intentionally act aloof to the whole thing...maybe not wanting to show emotion --- in a way to not spill the beans about his affair with Ms. Monroe.

However you feel about this whole thing, it's still one of the most iconic moments in our government's history, as this scene continuously gets parodied throughout the years.
