Less than 24 hours after the world learned of the passing of Eddie Van Halen, a video that pays tribute to the legendary guitarist has surfaced.

The Bloomfield Township police department paid tribute to Eddie, tweeting a video of one of their officers playing the song 'Jump' by Van Halen on the piano. The video of Officer Schuknecht's performance was recorded about four years ago.

You can check out the video below. It's exactly what we needed to see today.

Eddie Van Halen lost his battle with throat cancer on Tuesday. His son, Wolfgang Van Halen broke the news to the world on social media.

"I can't believe I have to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long arduous battle with cancer this morning.

He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift.

My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss.

I love you so much, Pop."
