I know what you're thinking. Who made the list and how did they figure out how kind a city was? For some being kind is holding a door open or putting their grocery cart away. Other Michigan residents will find a job that works around their volunteering schedule.
Measuring the Kindness Score of a Community
We live in a country where nearly $500 billion...BILLION with B, was given to various charitable organizations in 2022. What's troubling is that 2022 was down 3.4% in giving. That doesn't sound like much, but it rings a little louder when you consider how many non-profits depended on that missing $17 BILLION to serve their clients.

I know of more than a few local Michigan charities that have felt the pinch but, in true Michigan fashion, none of the people they serve are wise to it. In my experience, the Michigan volunteer spirit is strong and willing to cut corners behind the scenes to keep a hand extended to those who need it.
At least one Michigan city was recognized by WalletHub.com's most recent study, which had the goal of finding the kindest place in the United States.
