Magic Johnson to Help Hometown Schools

Earvin Magic Johnson will return to his hometown on April 30 to help raise funds for Lansing Promise Scholarship.  He will be a guest speaker at the Lansing Center, called A Special Evening with Magic Johnson.

The dinner will be presented by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce in support of The Lansing Promise Zone, an organization whose goal is to provide students in the Lansing School District an opportunity to earn a college education.

Lansing Promise was created after the state of Michigan set up Promise Zones in 10 cities around the state.  Communities were chosen based on the percentage of children living below the poverty line.
