Land O Lakes Makes Changes To Packing
After 100 years, Land O Lakes butter looks different. The butter most of us grew up on and even have in our fridge today, does not look the same anymore.
The Minnesota based company has taken the Native American woman off its boxes of butter and now says 'Farmer Owned.'
The company removed the Native American woman who was on the package kneeling against a background of pine trees and a blue lake.
The company made the changes in February, following the trend of businesses, Universities and sports teams dropping Native American images from their logos.
The new packaging was introduced one year ahead of the company's 100th Anniversary, the company says it's shifting its focus on the packaging to Farmer Owned.
