Lansing Restaurant Closes, But Part of the Business Will Live On
Another Lansing restaurant has turned off the kitchen lights, and this one stings a little.
The restaurant side of REO Town Clubhouse in Lansing's REO Town has closed.

I'm going to miss the food there. The Steak Tuscan was one of those dishes I'd order again without thinking twice, and that bread? I'm only slightly exaggerating when I say it was to die for. Honestly, I probably could have made a meal out of the bread alone.
REO Town Clubhouse Opened in 2025
REO Town Clubhouse opened in January 2025 at 1314 S. Washington Avenue, in the former Ellison Brewery space. It brought Italian-inspired food, drinks, entertainment, and a pool hall together under one roof.
Lansing Restaurants Continue to Face Higher Costs
Back in June, REO Town Clubhouse made a public plea for support, pointing to higher food prices, labor costs, operating costs, and changing customer habits — the same problems a lot of independent restaurants have been battling lately.
Unfortunately, the restaurant portion won't be continuing.
REO Town Clubhouse Pool Room Will Remain Open
But this is not a complete goodbye to REO Town Clubhouse.
The business will continue as REO Town Clubhouse Pool Room, so those pool tables aren't going anywhere. The Pool Room will continue to host regularly scheduled tournaments on Wednesday and Friday nights, along with seasonal pool leagues.

That distinction is worth making, because when people hear "REO Town Clubhouse has closed," it sounds like the whole operation has disappeared. It hasn't.
Still, I hate losing another local place where I knew I could sit down and get a really good meal.
Especially that Steak Tuscan.
And man, I'm really going to miss that bread.
