Lansing-Area H.S. Football Top 10 Poll (After Week 9)

The regular season is now complete in the state of Michigan for high school football.  And when all was said and done, 20 area teams made it into the postseason.

Congratulations to Jeff Bott's Perry Ramblers, as they qualified for the playoffs for the first time ever (in a non-COVID-19 year) with their 5-4 record.  They'll head to Westphalia this weekend to face their future CMAC rivals in the P-W Pirates.

Congratulations also to Jaleel Canty's Everett Vikings on making the playoffs for the first time since 2014.  Their victory over Okemos last Friday was just enough for the Vikings to grab the 32nd and last spot in Division 2.  They'll face East Lansing on the road this weekend.

Also, a nod to the teams that just missed the playoffs this year.  4-5 Leslie was the first team left out in Division 7, missing by .111 points.  4-5 Fowlerville was the second team left out in Division 3, and 4-5 St. Johns was not far behind them.

Also, congratulations are in order for perennial 8-Player powers Portland St. Patrick and Morrice.  Both of them made it into the postseason in Division 2.  And they could play each other for the regional title in a week and a half.

We have several games involving local team vs. local team in round 1 of the playoffs.  In Division 7, Pewamo-Westphalia hosts Perry while Laingsburg visits Bath.  In Division 4, Sexton heads to Portland to face the Raiders for the second time in three weeks.  And in Division 2, Everett heads to East Lansing to face the Trojans for the second time this season.

In fact, that will be our game this coming Friday night.  Everett at East Lansing for a berth in the Division 2 district finals.  Pregame coverage begins at 6:00pm with game coverage just before 7:00pm from Lynn C. Adams Stadium in East Lansing.
