Historic School House Turned Home For Sale in St. Johns, Michigan
Welcome to 1637 S Dewitt Rd in St. Johns. She is a gorgeous "historical treasure school house" that has been restored and remodeled and is ready to be lived in. Once I saw this Instagram post, I knew there had to be more pictures, so of course, I made my way over to Zillow, and I was not disappointed.
This home is truly something unique. They were able to restore the original tin ceiling, the Chicago brick walls, and the maple hardwood floors, all of which I'm drooling over.
But what I think I love most about this former school house is the juxtaposition between the exterior and the interior. On the outside, you've got this bright yellow front door against this dazzling white exterior. And when you step foot inside, you're met by this moody, cafe-esque interior. I love the deep greens mixed with the dark black on the counter and cabinets. It all works so well together with how warm the red brick and brown floors are. Also, I don't know if this house is just staged wonderfully, or if it comes with all that furniture, but someone did an amazing job decorating, and I want all of it.
It is only one bedroom and one bathroom, but for a single person or a couple, it's more than enough space. And for $249,200, it could be all yours. Check out the lovely pictures below, and just imagine yourself curled up on the couch with a good book and a hot cup of coffee.
