Another haunted Michigan location.....more keep popping up all the time.

The Castle Museum in Saginaw County was built in 1898 as a post office. It was constructed using the influence of European chateaus, Italian Renaissance and Gothic periods.

Hard to believe with having such a large size, but it was unable to keep up with all the mail flowing in and out of Saginaw. A decision was made in the early 1930s to tear it down and build a new one, but resident protests and a petition saved what was called “one of the best and most attractive buildings in Michigan.”

A compromise was made in 1935 between the residents and the clowns who wanted to tear it down: the building would be extensively remodeled. New wings were added as well as a large sorting room on the back of the building.

In the 1970s, a new post office was built anyway and threats of demolishing the castle resurfaced again. To save it, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, ensuring preservation.

So who haunts this place?

Supposedly, a ghostly “grey lady” who shows up in the basement and archival room. According to one visitor, “We were on our way up to the lookout portals in the tower, when we both simultaneously became nauseous. The feeling was so strong that we were unable to continue to the portals. I initially thought that it was due to the colors and lighting......The nausea cleared up as soon as we left. I didn't even consider the possibility of a paranormal experience until after I discovered the site.”

That’s not much to go on, but other instances similar to this one, as well as the usual noises and sightings, have led many to believe this place may contain paranormal activity.

Any place, anywhere can be the home of even the slightest amount of ghostly occurrences. Even your house.
