Do Ghosts Go to the Bathroom? Eerie Activity in an Ann Arbor BBQ
The Blue Tractor BBQ in Ann Arbor may be closed and re-named, but that doesn’t mean any possible hauntings have ceased. Located at 207 E. Washington Street in Ann Arbor, the Blue Tractor BBQ was closed in May 2025 for remodeling and re-opened that fall as Slow’s Bar B Q.
This BBQ establishment is loved by many and has received a wall-full of awards, all richly deserved. But what’s this rumor about some kind of paranormal activity?
To get to the bathroom, you have to go down into the basement. Okay, that sounds spooky already. A customer was in the bathroom when a stall door flung open as if someone inside had pushed it.....nobody was in the stall.

The witness related the incident, which took place during the summer of 2010: “As I was standing there washing my hands, The door swung open.....I assumed someone was entering the bathroom. When I looked over, there was no one.....Could not have been a breeze as it was a rather heavy door.....I exited and looked both ways down the hallway and the lower level of the kitchen. There was no one. I have never forgotten the incident as I am positive someone had entered that room.”
Blue Tractor BBQ was known for its locally sourced barbecue and house-brewed craft beers, and die-hard customers were not disappointed when it re-opened as Slow’s.
Does new management and remodeling mean there will be no more paranormal activity to experience?
Don’t be silly.
