Go To Dairy Dan In Lansing, Order A Dole Whip, Be Happy
What Do You Mean What's A Dole Whip?
It's delicious. It's been around since 1984. It's got a Disney connection. It looks like this and you can get one at Dairy Dan: another Lansing ice cream institution.
The legendary Dole Whip comes in many flavors. The most popular being pineapple but some might argue that point with you.
The one above, they were happy to tell me, was mango. They also pointed to the sign.
What's The Big Deal About Dole Whip?
Well, truth be told I was also confused. But if you take a minute and a gander over at the Dairy Dan Facebook page, you'll see that people are very serious about their Dole Whip and WHAT FLAVOR IS IT THIS WEEK?!?
There are updates people. Lots of updates. Just about the Dole Whip.
Every now and then you get a curve ball. I mean they do serve lots of other tasty frozen treats at Dairy Dan. Take a look at this huge menu.
And this one at the order window.
I did indeed ask what else was pretty popular and as luck would have it, the Reese's Cup Sundae was mentioned and highly suggested. Look at it.
But then we're right back to...yeah. You guessed it.
Seriously, I have driven by Dairy Dan several times and it's always had a line of people down the sidewalk and cars wrapped around the building and spilling on to Cedar.
I went on a Tuesday afternoon around 3pm and for the first time in a long time I saw the building look like this.
And I indeed had my first and best mango Dole Whip ever.
That was happiness and bliss in a cup.
You should definitely go. Take the family. Or head there by yourself when you're having a bad day.
Get a Dole Whip.
You won't be sorry.
