Giving Thanks and 500 Free Turkey Boxes (Meals) to Families In Lansing
Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.
For many people, it's a time to get together and celebrate. Especially after last year with Covid lockdowns and self-imposed isolating. We're still not completely out of the woods but things are looking up with vaccines and booster shots. You can celebrate the holidays with family get-togethers and parties. Within reason and still being safe.
Not everyone is going to have a Happy Thanksgiving
For some people, it's still not going to be a fun and festive holiday. It won't be about getting the family together because, for some, they won't be able to put food on the table.
Currently:
- In Michigan, 1,299,020 people are facing hunger - and of them 305,190 are children.
- 1 in 8 people faces hunger.
- 1 in 7 are children. (feedingamerica)
If you or someone you know is struggling this Thanksgiving, there is free help in the form of food boxes coming up on November 22nd and you won't even have to get out of your car to get them.
Let's start with the Turkey Boxes.
