This feels like one of those late night ambulance chaser, lawyer commercials. Like you used an OTC drug or surgical mesh for a hernia and something went wrong. Or worse yet, mesothelioma. You could be compensated for damages.

Think back. Did you buy chicken? In the last ten years? Is that a yes?

Well come on down.

You're the next contestant on THIS CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS FOR YOU.

Wait, I've purchased chicken in the last 10 years. Am I eligible?

Quite simply? Yes.

Well, I do guess it depends on what chicken you purchased. And by that we mean from what company.

Here's how this works.

If you purchased chicken between 2009 and 2020, you could be eligible for part of a class action law suit of $181 million dollars.

Prosecutors in the Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation allege that several corporations conspired to stabilize the price and supply of chicken, a violation of federal and state consumer antitrust laws.

The law firm representing the plaintiff’s posted notice of the settlement Friday with approval from United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. But, the settlements need final approval by the court at a hearing on Dec. 20, 2021 before any money is paid. (WLNS)

If you purchased fresh or raw frozen chicken from one of the defendants you could be part of the law suit and lay claim to part of the settlement.

There are several states involved and Michigan is one of them.

How much could you get?

The defendants include Fieldale Farms Corporation, George’s, Mar-Jac Poultry, Peco Foods, Pilgrim’s Pride, and Tyson Foods.

Tyson will pay $99,000,000, Pilgrim’s will pay $75,500,000, George’s will pay $1,900,000, Peco will pay $1,900,000, Fieldale will pay $1,700,000 and Mar-Jac will pay $1,000,000 if the settlements are approved.(WLNS)
