It looks like next week could be a miserable one for Mid-Michigan. First, we could see quite a bit of snow on Monday and we'll also be dealing with dangerously cold temperatures. Let's start with Sunday night into Monday. The National Weather Service says that a “region-wide snowstorm of 6 or more inches is likely and will greatly impact travel." The latest totals from the Weather Channel are 1 to 3 inches of snow Sunday night and  5 to 8 inches of snow on Monday. Meanwhile, Accuweather says we'll see almost 6 to 10 inches of snow from Sunday night through Tuesday .

Now on to the cold temperature part of the forecast. Besides the now, there's also a Polar Vortex that will bring our area some extremely cold temperatures. The National Weather Service says that the Mid-Michigan area could see dangerous wind chills next week. Those wind chills could be as low as 35 below. The Weather Channel says that the blast of cold air that is coming next week could be the coldest temperatures that we've seen in years.
