Michigan Crime Watch: Alarming Statistics by City, Part Four I-O

This article is PART IV of a five-part series focusing on ten different types of crimes committed in Michigan over a year, as reported in the FBI's Annual Crime Report (2021 analysis). The FBI's annual crime report includes a vast amount of information; we'll focus on ten different types of crime: violent crime, murder-nonnegligent manslaughter, rape 1, robbery, aggravated assault, property crime, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson.

MI Crime A-Z Part VI: Annual Crime Analysis: Imlay City to Oxford Township

This data set, I-O, contains Michigan's State Capitol. Lansing, which happened to see the most violent crimes out of the 113 cities represented, with 1,313 reported in 2021. Lansing's population was 118,953 then, making it the most highly populated within this comparison. The city with the second most violent crime is Kalamazoo, with a population of 76,827 and 949 violent crimes reported.
