An Arkansas man was attacked by a deer that he had shot. The incident happened last week.

The hunter was found severely injured out in the woods last Tuesday night in Arkansas.  The man appeared to be suffering from antler puncture wounds.

The 66 year old hunter had shot a deer and made plans with his nephew to field dress the deer's body together. CNN reports the nephew said his uncle was alert when he found him and was able to even make a call to his wife before he stopped breathing.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said they did not know for sure if the antler wounds are the official cause of the hunters death. He may have died from other medical issues such as a heart attack. The family says there will be no autopsy.
