After a slight dip in week 2, the percentage of bucks taken vs. does in Michigan's early bow segment, week 4 took a big step in the opposite direction.
A month into the season, 42,065 deer have been tagged. Of those, just 14,180 are does. This means in just 4 weeks, 27,885 bucks have been harvested. That's a 66.2% buck season to date. Though I've seen some BEASTS taken, I'd imagine the vast majority of the antlered deer taken could have been the same if they weren't so early in their lives by a hunter hungrier for a six-point wall hanging than they are a big fat tenderloin.
