From Abandoned to Resurrected: Auto Shop, Detroit
We've looked at hundreds of abandoned places throughout Michigan, but I believe this is the first time we've shown a decrepit old building that actually came back to life after many years of abandonment.
While abandoned, someone painted on the outside walls advertising $10 used tires. Whether or not the building was actually being used for business selling old tires is unknown...but by 2013 the shop was definitely deserted, doors ripped off, more graffiti, and the mention of $10 tries now painted over.
The gallery below shows the shop's slow deterioration...and then, it begins to come back to life again in 2015 with a new paint job and another, brighter paint job in 2016.

Also in 2016, the shop opened as the Worxx Auto Spa and the biz took off. A brand new sign by the 2020s showed that the auto spa was doing well.....and it still is!
Take a look at the gallery below and see how it went from a rotting shell to a thriving enterprise...!
