Experts say you should drink at least 8 full glasses of water every single day. On any given day, I probably drink at least 3 full glasses of water every day and I know that's not enough.

Believe it or not, but a West Michigan township actually has an award for the best tasting water in the state.

Plainfield Township's municipal water was determined the winner of the Michigan section of the American Water Works Association's award for best-tasting water in the state, township officials announced Thursday, Feb. 10.

In fact, this township last won the award back in 1991.

How can water taste that good to earn an award for best tasting water in the state? Unless it's flavored water, or seltzer water, how can you tell the difference between the water we drink here in the Lansing area or in Plainfield township?

The panel of judges selected by the MI-AWWA make the decision based on the water's appearance, taste and aroma. The other finalists were Bay County and Manistique. The award was given during the MI-AWWA's convention Feb. 8-9 in Lansing.

This is very impressive to say the least. After all this time, I thought all water tasted the same, generally speaking.

I guess I'll have to pay more attention to the water I'm drinking when I go from town to town on occasion.

Plainfield Township in Michigan is a place I need to visit in the near future so I can drink 8 full recommended glasses of water. Then I can say I just drank the best tasting water in the state of Michigan.
