Wendy's took some heat earlier this week on social media, after the franchisee's donated to President Donald Trump's re-election campaign.

Wendy recently tweeted out, saying the company will be donating $500,000 to help support social justice, and the youth and education in the black community.

Of the contribution, Wendy will be contributing to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, which will represent over 300,000 students at historical black colleges and universities, according to WILX.

“Because what’s the point of this big platform if we don’t use it for what matters during times like these?” the post said.

This move follows reports that James Bodenstedt, who is the CEO of Muy Companies, had donated over $500,000 to Trumps re-election.

Muy owns Wendys, Taco Bell as well as Pizza Hut. Most people associated the donation with the parent company.
