Valentines Day, is it a holiday to celebrate?  Some think of it as a Hallmark holiday and a day for commercial purposes. I try not to think of it as a day that makes us buy flowers, candy, and gifts for our soulmates, someone we're dating, or our wives or husbands.

Sure it's nice to get those goodies, but it can also be a day to count your blessings that you have someone to share your life with. Love is a good thing for those lucky enough to find it in my book.

Ideas For Valentines Day

If you're looking for something different to do this year on Valentine's day Monday Feburay 14th I saw this on allevents.in/grand%20rapids. You and your sweetheart can get your picture snapped with a professional photographer your names carved on a big ice wall.

This is also happening in Mason, you can check out the From Michigan With Love Valentine’s Event.  It happens Saturday and Sunday 2/12 and 2/13 at 352 W Columbia St in Mason.  Love will be in the air in the Mitten for Valentine’s Day because you can get specially-themed gifts and all made in Michigan with plenty of vendors!

Dinner For 2 On Valentines Day

Many restaurants will be having love-themed dinners and specials as well in the Lansing area, so check with your favorite restaurant. Here is one I found Capital Prime 2324 Showtime Dr in Lansing. They will have a five-course dinner for 2 on Valentine's deals with appetizer, salad, entree, dessert, and champagne toast.
