Lots of us "need" our morning coffee or a little something to get us through the day but would you call it an actual addiction? Here's some signs that might help.

Trust me when I say "I'm addicted to caffeine."

I started drinking coffee every morning when I was 11 years old in the sixth grade...yeah, I know, that's probably not good.

It started when my dad would have his morning coffee on the weekends and, both of us being early birds, I cherished that time and wanted to enjoy it like he did so I would indulge in a cup of joe with him.

Then I got the bright idea to start taking it to school and now, at 23 years old, I feel like I need caffeine like I need blood in my veins. I get headaches if I go too long without it and my entire mood and demeanor is thrown off.

Many of us can probably admit we have a caffeine "problem" but how many know it's an actual addiction? Do you know the symptoms of withdrawal?

If you don't, saddle up, maybe pour yourself some coffee and let's go over some of them.

Caffeine Withdrawal Symptoms

So if you are trying to kick any caffeine habits and are experiencing any of these symptoms, it could be your body going through withdrawal.

"The symptoms of caffeine withdrawal usually start about 12 to 24 hours after not having caffeine," Healthline reports. "The peak time for symptoms occurs at 20 to 51 hours after forgoing caffeine. Withdrawal can last from 2 to 9 days."

Just like with any addiction or any drug, coming off of it is a process and you just have to stick with it and stay strong.

However, if you are like me and your caffeine addiction isn't too out of hand, might as well avoid all of this nastiness above and just keep on chugging that hot bean water!
