Tell me you're not surprised?

Seriously.

Don't get me wrong. I love the guy. I have been a huge Stafford fan. Ups, downs, whatever.

But I've also been a proponent of him moving on and having a chance to win a Superbowl ring before his time was up.

Because honestly, as a Lions fan, I knew he wasn't going to get one here before his career was over.

Truth be told, I often wonder if we're going to win a Superbowl before I shuffle off this mortal coil myself.

The dude has been in for us 12 seasons, never won a playoff game, so many head coaches I've lost count and can't even start remembering names.

Indy, San Francisco, New Orleans, and the Bears keep popping up as potential places for Matthew to land. Washington, New England, and Denver also show up on the radar.

It's been fun sir. I wish you the best. You deserve it. I hate that so many amazing players come here and their careers seem to die. Get out while you can and get a ring if you can. Or two. It worked for Charlie Batch. And you're way better than him.

Good luck and godspeed my friend. I'll always be a fan.
