Abandoned Taco John’s Restaurant: Wyoming, Michigan
I guess we can forget about Taco John’s restaurant. All five of the Michigan locations are now closed. Three of them hadn’t even been open for two years yet.
The last day of Taco John’s was Thursday, September 12 (2024).
Will they ever re-open?
A company ‘spokesperson’ warbles that the closed structures will re-open, but obviously not as ‘Taco John’s’. They seem to want to go in a new direction saying if/when they do open again, it will be with a “different concept.”
What’s the concept?
They ain’t sayin’.
Now they say they are in the process of ‘re-branding’ (now there’s a corporate term if I ever heard one).
Kinda sad, because the original plan was to have around two hundred Taco John’s throughout the country. Too bad – and odd – because the company, Meritage, is based in Grand Rapids...so why not? Why can’t we have ‘em?
With over 380 other Meritage restaurants throughout sixteen of our United States, why not have a Taco John’s in Michigan?
We’ll see.
But it’s unlikely.
Now see some images inside the shut-down Taco John’s location in Wyoming, just outside of Grand Rapids.
