Baba ganoush is a fun word to say. It's also delicious and healthier than hummus. Luckily for you, they serve both at Sparty's Kabob in East Lansing.

Who are they and what do they serve?

Is it a Middle Eastern restaurant? Yes. You probably picked up on that while we were talking about the hummus and Baba ganoush. The description doesn't stop there.

They describe themselves as "Iraqui Cuisine and Bakery".

They opened back in the summer of 2020 and you might have missed it because this whole pandemic thing was going on.

They have kept their doors open and are serving some amazing food. Peep their MENU HERE. They do vegan, keto, and the desserts are out of this world. I have visited a couple of times and it's well worth a try and a return visit.

The food is great but the community spirit is AMAZING.

On their website, you'll find this...

We love doing our part to feed the local community. Try us out today, you will not be disappointed!

Now while most places might just say something like this as a positive PR thing, the folks over at Sparty's Kabob mean it.

Take a look at this.

Right when you walk in the door, this is their community board and a little thing they call #PushItForward.

The concept is simple. If you can pay for a meal, please come do business with them. If you can't pay for whatever reason, they don't want you to go hungry. Whether you forgot your wallet or if you are experiencing a little financial hardship, they want to make sure people can eat.

Customers and other members of the community pay for a stranger's meal and leave a sticky on the board.

In a pinch and need a meal, grab one. If you can afford to buy a meal and pass it on, leave one.

That's awesome.

That's love.

And you should definitely stop by and show some at Sparty's Kabob.
