
Updated Snowfall Totals For 7 of Michigan’s Snowiest Cities
The National Weather Service (NWS) has several stations around Michigan that measure humidity, barometric pressure, rain, and, of particular interest this time of year, snowfall. The 2024-25 winter may seem relatively mild for some Michiganders, but for others, the snowfall to date is well beyond what's typical for this time of year.

As of February 20, 2025, 6 out of the 7 NWS sites reporting received up to 181% of what they normally expect year to date. As we all know, there was a lot more winter and a lot more snow between then and the season's last dumping of white powder.
2024-25 Winter Is Playing Catchup
For many cities in mid-Michigan, the first half of winter passed with only a couple of significant snowfalls but nothing "yardstick on the back patio" Instagram-worthy. Enter the Wednesday before Valentine's Day, February 12 and 13, 2025, and Mother Nature must have decided it was time to play catch up.
The totals varied across the state, with Flint only getting 1.4 inches and East Lansing getting blasted with 6 (for city-by-city snowfall totals for this system, click here).
