Plenty of Upcoming 5K Races in Greater Lansing
If you're ready to shed your quarantine 15 or ready to support local causes, then most likely this is for you.
Now through Nov. 18, you can be a part of Walking with Warriors which is hosted online. This 5K race is meant to create an empowering atmosphere for troops through physical fitness. The event is free to sign up and can be run from any location.
How about another running event? According to the Lansing State Journal, this 5K race will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Eaton Rapids High School Varsity Cross Country Course. Runners will line up at the start line with no more than five people.
Are you ready for this year's Turkey Trot? It starts at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26 and it will be hosted online and in person at 500 N. Grand Avenue, Lansing. The organizers have made accommodations to avoid a crowded mass start.
Get ready for the Scrooge Scramble on Saturday, Dec. 5, hosted online and in person along the streets of Old Town and the Lansing River Trail on Turner street in Lansing. The in person event will be limited to 100 people to prevent crowding and participants are strongly encouraged to wear a mask at package pickup and at the starting line. (LSJ)
Let's not forget about the Playmakers Holiday Classic Run/Walk. This fun event is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 24, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Lansing Brewing Company on E. Shiawassee in Lansing. A virtual option will be offered this year as well. Post race coffee and hot chocolate will be served, and Lansing Brewing Company will be selling beer for take home celebration.
