The latest plan from Panera Bread is to move from its spot in the Lansing Mall to a new stand alone restaurant proposed for the mall's property on West Saginaw Highway.

According to township documents, Panera plans to close its current location at the mall and relocate to a newly constructed restaurant on just under two acres of mall property.

Ken Fletcher, who is the Township Supervisor, said the proposed 4,600 square foot building would seat just over 135 people and provide more seating and definitely a drive thru window.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the company still needs final approval from the township's planning department.  If approved, construction could start by the end of this year.
