HAUNTED MICHIGAN: Mouth Cemetery, Muskegon County
There are some properties nearby that may look abandoned but they are privately owned and not to be trespassed on. The cemetery is public but be respectful of the structures you may see.
In Muskegon County, there lies one creepy cemetery. It rests in an area right out of a horror movie script: surrounded by woods in a remote area; it's been uncared for and neglected for years. The cemetery is located somewhat northwest of Michigan's Adventure Park and not far from the upper western shore of White Lake, at the end of Sunset Lane.
The oldest gravemarker reads 1851 but it's likely burials took place before that. This place has everything you need to make up your own haunted story...but many people have claimed to experience their own paranormal experiences there.
HAND PRINTS AROUND THE NECK
SCREAMS AND STRANGE SOUNDS
A 'CURSED' CHAIR IN THE WOODS (sit in it and you die a year later)
UNEXPLAINED SHAPES APPEAR IN PHOTOGRAPHS
FOOTSTEPS IN THE WOODS
Again, if you visit it will be easy for your imagination to get the best of you...and your creative mind just may come up with a creepy tale of your own. But some folks claim things happened to them while others say nothing occurred.
Either way, it's a super-creepy place to visit...especially with Halloween not far away.
And as a bonus, it has it's own Michigan Historical Marker, so you know this place has it's shares of tales and legends.
As always, if you do pay a visit, be respectful and don't ruin other people's experiences by vandalizing or littering.
ENJOY OUR STATE! There's so much to do!
